GDC Udhampur enters into MOU for skill and vocational courses

UDHAMPUR, May 22: GDC, Udhampur entered into another milestone in the pursuance to excellence by entering into a Memorandum of Understanding with G K Educational trust, a training partner for skill and vocational courses. The GK education trust is an affiliated body of NSDC (National Skill Development Council) under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. By entering the MoU, the college can now provide training for skill-based courses to improve the employability and entrepreneur of the youth passing out of GDC, Udhampur. Through this MoU, the college can now offer the different courses from NSQF basket, and this will have far reaching effects. The MOU was in alignment with the guidelines of NEP, 2020. The MOU was signed between Prof.(Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta Principal, GDC Udhampur and Gaurav Khajuria, the chairman of GK Educational Trust. The MoU was signed in presence of the Convener and Committee of Vocational Cell and senior faculty members.
Speaking on the occasion Principal Prof.(Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta appreciated the efforts of the committee to bring on board the GK trust to facilitate the needy students of the college to provide them the platform to gain the rightful employment. He also stressed to identify the students who have entrepreneurial capabilities to whom the college can incubate to establish their own business. The convener of the committee Prof. Sonia Khajuria highlighted that by launching the skill courses, the students can be segregated and trained in different trades to gain the jobs at local, national and international levels as per their caliber.
Faculty members present on the occasion were Prof Babu Lal Thakur, committee members of Vocational Cell, Prof Sonia Khajuria, Prof Shobhna Samyal, Dr Sukh Chain, Dr Piyali Arora, Dr Jagjeet Singh, Dr Firdoos Itoo, Dr Sakshi Sharma, Prof Anoksha Sharma and Dr Jasmeet Kour.
