Early Times Report
MANJAKOTE, May 22: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Gulam Ali Khatana has said that people of border areas have really heaved a sigh of relief in the last 10 years of BJP government under the leadership of PM Modi.
Addressing different public meetings at a border hamlets Rajdhai, Maal and Dassal Gujjran in Manjakote area of Poonch district on Wednesday Khatana said that life at Indo-Pak border in Rajouri-Poonch areas and at other border areas of Jammu and Kashmir has now returned to normalcy and activities like agriculture, cattle rearing and grazing, offering prayers at religious places, organising social and political functions etc now goes on without any fear from bullets or shelling from other side of the border.
"There was continuous firing, infiltration and terrorism on borders and residents of borders areas lived in constant fear earlier but since the strong regime helmed the nation by PM Modi misadventures of our wicked neighbour have died and life here has embraced normalcy," Khatana maintained adding: "The crop filled agriculture fields reflect that activities supporting the life are now as usual as our security and defence forces have been given a free hand to manage border firing and infiltration."
The public meeting was organised by ex-BDC Manjakote Shamshad Begum and prominent among those present on the occasion were Kapil Saral, number of Panches and Sarpanches and others.
On this occasion many activists from National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Congress and other parties also joined BJP in Manjakote and they were welcomed into the party by MP Khatana.
The BJP leader also said that people of Rajouri and Poonch should vote for an honest and upright person who may work for them and dynasts should be avoided at every cost.
The Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) also said that he will take the issue of more bunkers at the border villages with the concerned authorities.
"Army has done remarkable job under Sadbhawana in the areas of Rajouri-Poonch but more is required to be done here," Khatana continued.
Ajaz Ahmad Khan, Abdul Gaffar, Molvi Mohd Hafeez, Panch Zaheer Ahmed, Salim Naz Moghal and others were also present on this occasion.
