Police organize anti drug awareness programmes at GHSS Gurha Slathia, Ghagwal

SAMBA, May 22: Police has organised anti-drug awareness programmes at Govt. Higher Secondary School Gurha Slathia and Govt. Degree College Ghagwal which were attended by a large number of students, teachers, PRIs and prominent citizens.
The programme at GHSS Gurha Slathia organized under CAP was presided over by SDPO Vijaypur accompanied by SHO Police Station Vijaypur in which students from Govt. Higher Secondary School Gurha Slathia, Govt. Girls High School Gurha Slathia and Govt. Primary School Budwal had participated. The first, second and third best student speakers were presented cash rewards of rupees 10000, 6000 and 4000 respectively, whereas five other participating students were also felicitated with cash rewards of rupees 2000 each.
SDPO Vijaypur and SHO Police Station Vijaypur also spoke on the occasion and asked the youth to stay away from narcotic substances.
Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School Gurha Slathia thanked the police for organizing anti-drug awareness programmes at Gurha Slathia to generate awareness among students and public against drug abuse. In another anti-drug awareness programme organized by Police at Govt. Degree College Ghagwal, SHO Police Station Ghagwal sensitized the students about ill effects of drug abuse. During the programme, SHO appealed to the younger generation to refrain themselves from the use of narcotics substances, channelize their energy in recreational activities and contribute in the making of drug free society.
