Development paralyzed, people feeling alienated under present dispensation: Ajaz Jan
5/22/2024 10:21:55 PM
Early Times Report
MANDI, May 22: Ajaz Jan, Provincial President of JKNC Youth, raised serious concern over the stagnation of development projects and the growing sense of alienation among the people under the present dispensation.
He stated this while addressing a series of public meetings in Sawijan and Bandikamakhan in Mandi Tehsil to rally support for the National Conference (NC) candidate for the Anantnag- Rajouri Lok Sabha constituency, Mian Altaf Ahmed.
During his address, Jan highlighted the cessation of development initiatives in Tehsil Mandi since the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) assumed power at the Center in 2014. "Local residents are feeling uncomfortable to work outside Jammu and Kashmir due to the BJP's divisive policies," Jan stated, underscoring the adverse impacts of the current government's strategies on the region's socio-economic fabric. Jan criticized the Apni Party and the People's Conference, describing them as two sides of the same coin. He accused these parties of indirect affiliations with the BJP, emphasizing that apart from the National Conference and Congress, all other political parties are covertly aligned with the BJP. "BJP is not officially contesting the Anantnag- Rajouri Parliamentary seat but has deployed its proxy candidates in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections," he asserted.
Ajaz Jan emphasized that the time has come for the people of District Poonch to stand up against the injustice inflicted upon them by the current administration. He urged them to assert their rights by casting their votes in support of the NC candidate, Mian Altaf Ahmed. Jan stressed the importance of this electoral decision as a means to challenge the prevailing disenchantment and to pave the way for a more inclusive and equitable governance. He called upon the people to seize this opportunity to reclaim their right and demand accountability from those in power.
Echoing Jan's sentiments, District President Bagh Bhushan Rathore called on the public to support the National Conference. Shamim Peer, Shabir Choudhary, Block Presidents Ishaq Khan, Mashaq Khan, Haji Sher Bajz, Khalil Lone, Ghulam Ahmed Lone, Sheikh Ishiaq Shah, Haji Muneer Hussain, Dr khadam Hussain, Ch Bashir, Sarpanch Sharief, Mushtaq Ahmed, Mohd Shadiq, Nizir Hussain, Mohd Rafiq Sheikh, Bagh Hussain, Manzoor hussain Shah sahib, Bashir Ahmed and Farooq Ahmed also urged the people of Tehsil Mendhar to vote for NC candidate Mian Altaf Ahmed to end the BJP's misgovernance. In a significant development, senior BJP leader Gulam Mohi-ud-din Malik along with his supporters joined the National Conference in presence of Ajaz Jan. He pledged to work towards fortifying the party's grassroots presence and supporting its vision for the region's progress and unity.
