SSP Jammu conducts surprise visit of Cyber Cell

JAMMU, May 22: SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar IPS conducted a surprise visit of Cyber Cell DPO Jammu. This visit underscored the importance of cybersecurity and the relentless efforts of the police to combat cybercrime.
Cyber Cell Performance Overview:
From 2019 to 22-05-2024, the Cyber Cell DPO Jammu received an impressive 3,986 online complaints through the NCCR Portal,out of these, 2,066 complaints are currently under process while 1,920 have been successfully resolved.
Additionally, from 09-01-2024 to 22-05-2024, the Cyber Cell received 2,997 offline complaints from the Cyber Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu, which were promptly forwarded to the concerned police stations to ensure swift resolution.
The Cyber Cell's diligent investigations and robust efforts have resulted in the freezing of ?71,33,952 and the recovery of ?3,17,000 within the period from 09-01-2024 to 22-05-2024. These achievements highlight the effectiveness and dedication of the team.
Innovative Initiatives and Support:
The Cyber Cell DPO Jammu has set up an email ID (iccybercell.dpojammu @jkpolice.gov.in) and a dedicated helpline number (8899537995) to provide continuous public assistance.
A WhatsApp group has been created by the In-charge of the Cyber Cell, comprising investigating officers from various police stations. This initiative ensures seamless communication and support for tackling cybercrime.

SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar IPS lauded the exceptional efforts of the Cyber Cell and urged the team to maintain their momentum in fighting cyber fraud. His visit reinforces the commitment of the Jammu Police to safeguarding citizens against the growing menace of cybercrime.
