CUJ engineering students visits Jammu airport

JAMMU, May 25: Students of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) and ECE -Avionics, Central University of Jammu under the patronage of Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sanjeev Jain visited the Civil Airport Jammu. This educational visit was organized by Prof. Rakesh Kumar Jha, Head, DoECE to provide students with practical exposure to the projects and operations of an airport, enhancing their understanding of real-world applications of their academic studies.
During the visit, the students of B-Tech Electronics and communication and B-Tech Avionics were welcomed by the airport authorities at Jammu and given a comprehensive tour of the facility. The tour included detailed presentations on various airport operations, including communication systems, radar technology, navigation aids, and security systems. The students had the opportunity to interact with the airport engineers and technicians, gaining valuable insights into the technical and operational challenges faced in the aviation sector.
Prof. Rakesh Kumar Jha, Head DoECE in his statement said that Dr. Sachin Kumar Gupta, Associate Professor was the co-ordinator of the program and Dr. Rajiv Kumar & Dr. Misbah Shafi faculty members coordinated the visit. Prof. Jha emphasized the importance of such visits in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. "This visit is a significant step towards enriching our students' learning experience by exposing them to advanced technologies and real-time problem-solving environments," said Prof. Rakesh Jha.
The students expressed their enthusiasm and appreciation for the opportunity to see the practical implementations of their coursework. Students remarked, "The visit to the Civil Airport Jammu was an eye-opener. Seeing the advanced communication systems and technology in action has deepened our understanding and inspired us to pursue further studies in this field."
The Central University of Jammu extends its gratitude to the Sanjeev Kumar Garg, Airport Director for their cooperation and support in making this visit a success. Such initiatives are part of the university's ongoing efforts to provide its students with comprehensive educational experiences that prepare them for successful careers in their chosen fields. The trip was quite successful and allowed students to learn beyond the boundaries of books.
