Early Times Report JAMMU, May 25: The Nami Dogri Sanstha proudly released "Nayne Bade Syane," a short story book in Dogri for children, penned by Shambu Ram Pyasa. The event was held at the Writer's Club, K.L. Sehgal Hall in Jammu, and attended by esteemed guests and literary enthusiasts. The book comprises fourteen short stories, featuring characters that remain connected to their roots while presenting thoughts and perceptions that are modern, scientific, and logical. The event was presided over by Padamshri Mohan Singh, with Kavinder Gupta, former Deputy Chief Minister, as the Chief Guest. Shalander Singh, SSP Railways and Sahitya Academy Awardee, was the Guest of Honour. Yogacharya Er. S.K. Jain served as the Special Invitee, and Brij Mohan, a renowned lyricist and music composer, was the Special Guest. The dais also featured prominent personalities such as Prof. Anupama Sharma, a renowned singer of Duggar and Patron of NDS, Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila, President of NDS, and the author Shambu Ram Pyasa. Mitu Kumari Meenia, a Ph.D. scholar from the Dogri Department of Jammu University, presented a detailed paper on the book, receiving widespread appreciation. In his opening address, Capt. Lalit Sharma IFS (Retd.), Convener of NDS, described the book as thought-provoking, educative, and motivational for children. Padamshri Mohan Singh welcomed the book as a proud addition to Dogri literature. Kavinder Gupta emphasized the importance of empowering children from a young age to become responsible citizens. He praised the efforts of the writer in contributing to this cause. Brij Mohan highlighted the power of poetry and music in popularizing a language and stressed the need to emphasize these tools. Shalinder Singh conducted a detailed review of the book, describing it as a literary asset for children. The author, Shambu Ram Pyasa, shared his experiences and inspiration behind writing the book. Renowned journalist S. Jang S. Varman, who illustrated the photographs for the stories, was honored by the dignitaries. Participants unanimously passed a resolution calling for a separate Duggar Channel to propagate Duggar culture and provide a digital platform for writers and artists to reach the common man. Dr. Chanchal Sharma, a famous Dogri writer, singer, and Organizing Secretary of NDS, extended a formal vote of thanks, concluding the event on a high note. |
