JKAACL organizes mega event at GDC Marh

JAMMU, May 29: J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, in collaboration with the Department of Dogri organized a 2-day cultural event at Government Degree College Marh. The Dogri Department of the college presented a bonanza of Dogra cultural activities. The chief guest for the function was Editor Dogri J&KAACL Reeta Khadyal.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal of the college Dr. Rakesh Kumar Koul who welcomed the chief guest and staff of J&K Art Culture and Language Department Jammu. He also stressed upon the importance of Dogri language enrichment among youth. "It is our vernacular language where promotion is required at national level also", he added. Earlier, the programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the guests.
In his inaugural address, the chief-guest explained the functioning of J&K art, culture and languages in different spheres. She stressed upon students to learn Dogri language and culture in different ways, as the academy is working on 12 languages at the state level.
Reeta Khadyal spoke on the achievements of the academy, especially publishing of Dogri books. She also sang a Dogri song which enthralled the students and staff, fostering new confidence towards dogri language among all present.
The Students of college presented their talent by way of elocuting poem, singing, dance and nukkad naatak performances.
The chief guest announced the cash price for the participants through direct benefit transfer method. The whole event was organized by the Dogri Department of the college headed by Dr. Sheetal Devi and the cultural committee headed by Dr. Ashu Jolly.
