| JCC holds meeting with Fin/GAD commissioner | | ‘Assured release of SRO by this month end’ | | Early Times Report Jammu Mar 12: A delegation of Joint Consultative Committee of employees, headed by Nazir Ahmad Mir, President Civil Secretariat (Non Gazetted) Employees Union had a meeting with Commissioner/ Secretary to Government Finance Department and Commissioner/Secretary to Government General Administration Department here today. The delegation had thread-bare discussions with these Officers with regard to the issues agreed between the Government and leaders of the Joint Consultative Committee on January 18 last. The delegation apprised the meeting about the apprehensions in the minds of the employees about delay in the issuance of the orders with regard to implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations and the resultant misgivings created in this behalf by some mischievous elements, who do not want the problems of the employees to be solved in a genuine and decisive manner. The delegation also expressed its resentment with respect to unilateral announcement of the Government on payment of arrears in five installments. The delegation was told that the Government is committed to the implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations including the payment of arrears and assured the delegation that the SRO in this behalf shall be issued before the end of March 2009. The delegation was assured that the first installment of arrears shall be paid to the employees in the month of July, 2009. The delegation also raised the issue with regard to removal of pay anomalies and both the Commissioners assured that the recommendations made in this behalf by the S.L. Bhat Committee shall be implemented in letter and spirit. The delegation also placed the demand of release of 6 percent DA to the employees and the delegation was assured that the orders for release of DA shall be issued very soon. The delegation was satisfied with the clarifications given to it with regard to implementation of pay commission recommendations in respect of public sector employees and enhancement of wages to the Daily rated employees about which it was assured that the pay of employees of public sector undertakings shall also be revised and the wages of daily rated employees shall also be enhanced as agree to by the Government. The delegation included Ghulam Mehdi, Abdul Qayoom Wani, Mohammad Khurshid Alam, Ram Kumar Sharma, Ganesh Khajuria, Mushtaq Hussain Sushil Sudan, Sadeea Ladakhi, Subash Chander, Jagmohan Suditra, Amrik Singh and Purshotam Sharma.
