20 students from Jammu donate blood at Amritsar camp

Jammu, Mar 12- The students of Ranjit College of Education and Ranjit Teacher Training and Research Institute Kunjwani Jammu participated in world’s largest blood donation camp organized by Shri Akal Takht Sahib, Shriomani Takhat and Shriomni Gurdeara Parbandhak Committee Amritsar at Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College Sri Anandpur Sahib Punjab.
Manmeet Singh, the founder Trustee of Ranjit Educational Trust said that 20 students including 13 girls and 7 boys donated blood in the world’s largest blood donation camp which succeeded to enter its name into Ginnies book of world record for donating the largest units of blood in one day.
The students who voluntarily donated blood included Rajni Devio, Ninderpal Kour, Charan jit Kaur, Sangeeta Sandhu, Arvinder Kaur, Sanjula, Neetu Balas, Ramesh Kumari, Rajni Sharma, Kamlesh Kumari, Baljeet Kaur,Vinay Sharma and Kusum Lata all girls candidates, Parvinder Singh, Satish Kumar, Lovepreet Singh, Amritpal Singh, Avar Singh, Sukhdev Singh and Mander Singh were among the boys.
Manmeet Singh further told that this blood donation camp was inaugurated by Giani Tarlochan Singh. Jathedar Takhat Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Jathedar Jaswinder Singh from Akal Takhat Sahib and Jathedar Avtar Singh president Shiromani Gurdwara Prabndhak Committee, Amritsar were present on the occasion.
Jathedar Giani Tarlochan Singh, Baba Harnam Singh Khalsa. S. Kiranbir Singh Kang, Prof. Manjit Singh and S. Bikram Singh Majithia were among the first donors of this world’s largest camp.
The donors from Nagpur, Uttrakhand, Rajashtan, Jammu andKashmir, Delhi, Amritsar, Ludhaina, Mukatsar Mansa, Bihar, Bathinda and other parts of Punjab donated blood. At least 110 blood banks from all over the country have been requested to collect the blood and more than 100 doctors and 3000 para medical staff were engaged for this largest camp which was divided into 14 sectors and in every sector 48 beds were arranged besides the diet arrangements to facilitate the donors
