DB stays warrants of arrest against Adv GD Sharma after 23 yrs
3/12/2009 10:54:10 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar12-The Division Bench of J&K High Court Jammu Wing comprising Chief Justice Barin Gosh and Justice Mansoor Ahmed Mir today stayed all warrants of arrest issued against the applicant (Adv GD Sharma) for a period of three months from today.
This significant order has been passed in a Cr MP filed by Advocate GD Sharma after considering the averments made in Cr MP and in particular the request contained therein, on the assurance that applicant will address the court himself and for that matter would make appearance. The DB directed that applicant to file a request memo for fixation of the matter.
It is worthwhile to mention here that in various contempt cases ROBKAR VS GD Sharma, the High Court had issued warrants against Advocate GD Sharma. In the Cr MP, the applicant prayed that in the interest of the justice a blanket order be passed putting on hold the warrants issued against him to enable him to argue the case before the court personally.
