Workshop on Development of Theme Based Learning Culminated today

Jammu, June 1: A 03 day workshop on Development of Theme Based Learning & Teaching Materials for Pre-School Classes organised by Department of Population Education, Girls Education and ECCE & EFA of Academic Unit II SCERT Jammu under the mentorship of Prof. (Dr) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director SCERT J&K Divisional Office Jammu and overall supervision of Prof(Dr.) Parikshat Singh Manhas, Director SCERT J&K concluded today at SCERT J&K Divisional Office Jammu.
The programme was inaugurated on 30-05-2024 by traditional lighting of lamp by Prof. Poonam Choudhary, Director, Department of Museology, Cultural History and Heritage, University of Jammu, the chief guest on the occasion and a pioneer in the field of Montessori Education in J&K in presence of Prof. (Dr) Sindhu Kapoor, Joint Director and other dignitaries. In her inaugural address, she emphasized on strengthening the foundation of Pre-Primary in School Education through Quality Content and Teacher Training. She also presented a book on Phonetics for pre-primary students, written by her to SCERT Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion, Prof (Dr.) Sindhu Kapoor urged upon the participants to put-in their best efforts and expertise for developing quality Learning Teaching Material in ECCE during the on-going workshop.
The workshop brought together 30 participants which included DNOs from DIET and District Level ECCE Experts from all 10 Districts of the Jammu Division who will play a pivotal role in implementing and disseminating the knowledge and skills acquired during the workshop in their respective regions.
Ms. Jaswinder Kour, Co-ordinator ECCE Divisional Resource Centre Jammu was the Resource Person who deliberated upon different types of Learning Teaching Material used in ECCE Classrooms.
The senior faculty members of JKSCERT present in the program included Prof Swaran Singh Jaral, Head Academic Unit II.
The workshop was managed by Ms Kamini Verma, Ms Shazia Kousar, Ms. Arsh Kour A.O.s Ms. Meena Thakur, Mr Akash Khajuria (Assistant Co-ordinator), Mr Yugal Kishore Tr. under the guidance of Dr. Sanjeevani, Head of the Department.
Ms. Monika Dogra, AO welcomed the chief guest and participants. Mr Anil Sharma, Prog-Coordinator gave brief introduction of the workshop. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Ms. Neeraj Jamwal, AO.
On the concluding day, The Department Head, Dr. Sanjeevani, enjoined upon the participants to apply the acquired expertise in their respective institutions. The certificates of appreciation were distributed among the attendees by the Head of the Unit, Professor Swaran Singh Jaral in the presence of Dr. Sanjeevani, Head of the Department and Mr. Anil Sharma, co-ordinator of the workshop.
