| Farooq’s statement on BJ-PDP irresponsible, politically motivated ;Arora | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 12- Terming the recent statement of Dr. Farooq Abdullah that BJP and PDP have joined hands, as totally irresponsible and politically motivated, the BJP spokesperson Romesh Arora has said that BJP always opposed the Kashmir-centric leaders and parties as they were responsible for the continuous discrimination with the Jammu region. Addressing media persons here today Arora said that in the just concluded short session of the state assembly, BJP took a tough stand over the issues like delimitation, unemployment and problems of the refugees. These were the commitments made in the election manifesto of BJP. Arora said the Congress and the NC said have gone the other way. Congress adopted criminal silence in recent assembly session over the issue of refugees, delimitation and unemployment although these have been incorporated all these in their election manifesto during assembly elections. BJP will raise all these issues in forthcoming parliament elections. The BJP Spokesperson said that the BJP condemns the statement of Dr. Farooq Abdullah alleging alliance of BJP with PDP. In fact, it is fight between NC and PDP to get power in Kashmir. Any act to divide the state on communal and regional lines will be discouraged and condemned by BJP, he added. He said BJP had voted in recent elections of MLC in favour of JKNPP candidate and not PDP candidate. Slogans raised by few local leaders against BJP are political motivated. In fact, few want to play in the hands of Congress in order to divert the attention from basic role of Congress in recent assembly elections. BJP is a party with difference and have some ideology. Jammu parties and political leader should play a constructive role against Kashmir centric parties and leaders, he maintained and said that BJP has supported an independent candidate Ashok Vijay Gupta in Rajya Sabha Elections because, Congress, NC and PDP had not given due representation to a particular section of the society. The BJP leader asserted that that his party is committed to remove the difference of 37 and 46 seats and expressed the confidence that people will reject the Congress in Parliament elections as was done in the state assembly elections. He said that BJP always opposed the demand of delimitation, joint mechanism and abrogation of special power act giving powers armed forces.
