JAMMU, June 4: Directorate of AYUSH, J&K on directions of Director Ayush Dr . Mohan Singh and supervision of DAO Dr. Vandana Dogra in collaboration with Government College of Education Jammu organized a MEGA YOGA CAMP on "YOGA FOR WOMEN EMPOWERMENT "for female fitness. The Mega yoga Camp was organized under the guidance and supervision of Principal Dr.(Prof.) Jyoti Parihar
The event was organized to raise awareness about the benefits of yoga among students.The female Staff and girl students participated in various traditional asanas and were taught different methods of meditation.
The Program was led by Dr.Himani Bhyutal ; Dr Sandeep Bhagat, Dr Chetan Singh (Medical officers Ayush) and their team Ishan Mansotra, Jyoti Bali and Sheetal Khajuria(Yoga Instructors). Dr.Himani bhutyal delivered a lecture on "Personal and Menstrual Hygiene"and explained in detail about Do and Don'ts of Personal Hygiene, how to manage hygiene during periods. Queries by girl students related to this topic was clearly explained and answered by her.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. (Prof.) Jyoti Parihar (Principal) expressed her views on the importance of Yoga and appreciated the efforts of the team members of Ayush Department for the successful event. She also shared that the people have widely accepted the effectiveness of Yoga as a form of therapy.The session was specially organized for all female teachers and girl students of the college . It was very fruitful and everyone enjoyed .
Dr. Rajinder Kour (M.Ed Coordinator), Dr Shubhra Jamwal (Convenor Women Development Cell), Prof. Sarita Dogra (NSS PO), Prof Priyanka Mahajan organized the program.
This initiative was greatly appreciated by the attendees, who expressed their gratitude for being included in the celebration.
