Cybercrime investigation unit recovers online defrauded amount

KISHTWAR, June 4: The Cybercrime Investigation Unit of District Police Kishtwar has reaffirmed its commitment to combating cybercrime by successfully solving a case and recovering online defrauded funds amounting to Rs. 4,40,000.00 (Four Lacs Fourty Thousand).
District Police Kishtwar, while sharing the details, stated that they received multiple complaints related to online frauds. These frauds involved mobile recharge scams, online trading, installation of third-party mobile Apps, and malicious Telegram links promoting Dream 11 teams.
The Cybercrime Investigation Unit swiftly initiated an investigation and, through relentless efforts and advanced technical skills, successfully recovered Rs. 4,40,000 .00. Investigations into the recovery of the remaining amount are ongoing, with promising leads.
After the establishment of Cybercrime Investigation Unit Kishtwar has addressed numerous reports of online scams, successfully recovering a total amount of Rs. 19,26,906.00 (Nineteen Lacs Twenty-Six Thousand and Nine Hundred Six).
District Police Kishtwar urges the general public to stay vigilant against online fraud. Avoid clicking on suspicious links, refrain from installing unauthorized apps, and be cautious while sharing personal information online.
