Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 4: In a continued crackdown on illegal bovine smuggling, the Police Post Dhansal has successfully thwarted another attempt in the Lapri Top area. Acting on a reliable tip-off, the police received information that bovine smugglers were transporting animals on foot from Lapri Top towards Kashmir for illicit sale. Promptly responding to the information, the police team reached the spot and apprehended two individuals involved in the smuggling operation. The suspects have been identified as Zakir Hussain, son of Gulam Mohd, resident of Dheeda, Gool, District Ramban, and Mohd Rafi, son of Ali Mohd, resident of Khallah, Dehdah, District Ramban. The suspects were found transporting eight bovine animals without any valid permission from the concerned authorities. The police have taken the animals into custody and are conducting further investigations to uncover more details about the smuggling network. This operation highlights the relentless efforts of the Dhansal Police Post to combat illegal activities and uphold the law. The police commend the public for their continued cooperation and encourage them to report any suspicious activities that may help in preventing crime. On this, Case FIR No. 45/2024 U/S 188 IPC 11 (1) PCA Act stands registered at P/S Arnas and investigation initiated to unearth the forward and backward linkages.
