| 50 travel through Karvan-e-Aman | | | Early Times report
Srinagar: After being suspended last week following the request by authorities in Pakistan, the weekly Karvan-e-Aman bus resumed its service Thursday and as many as 50 passengers crossed sides on the Line of Control (LoC) at Kaman post near Uri in Baramulla district of north Kashmir. Official sources said that 19 persons boarded the “peace bus” and crossed over to Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pak via Aman Setu Bridge Thursday morning. Among the travelers included 14 from this side who are visiting their relations for the first time in Pak after the indo-Pak partition. The remaining five, returned home after meeting their relative in this part of Kashmir. Similarly, sources said, 31 persons reached valley including 17 fresher’s from Pak who will meet their relatives first time after line dividing parts of Pakistan was drawn following partition of India and Pakistan in 1947. Last week, the officials said that the scheduled run of the weekly bus service was cancelled on Islamabad’s request. “The Pakistani authorities had informed the army last evening that due to some administrative problem, they would not be able to send the bus or receive passengers from this side on March 5,” the spokesman had said in the statement sent to Press Bureau of India.
