First Aid Firefighting training cum demonstration held at GMC Jammu

JAMMU, June 5: A lecture cum demonstration with regard to use of First aid fire fighting equipment was organised today at Government Medical College Jammu. GMC Hospital authorities led by Deputy Superintendent Dr Nausheen Zafar presided over the training session which was also attended by Mechanical and Hospital Division AE, Er Sunit Gupta and JE Mechanical wing Nazia Kousar besides Hospital /Para Medical staff and security personnel of the hospital. The Firefighting training cum demonstration was delivered by Kanwal Peshin i/c Divisional Fire Officer City Jammu in GMC semi auditorium. The staff and management was trained and briefed about the use of Firefighting equipment installed at Hospital premises. A question answer session was also held after the lecture. A live demo of Firefighting was also arranged to train the staff and security personnel to use the fire extinguishers in a perfect manner and avert any untoward happening. Use of hydrant points and other First Aid Fire Fighting Equipment were also displayed tactically to control any fire incident with immediate response. The demonstration cum firefighting training was organised in continuation to an awareness drive launched by Alok Kumar, ADGP Director Fire and Emergency Services since Aug 2022 to make people and establishments aware about fire safety provisions. The demonstration cum training was held under the supervision of Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services Command Jammu, RK Raina.
