JAMMU, MARCH 12 - The Legislative Council today gave concurrence to the recommendations of the Legislative Assembly which allows Upper House to join the Joint Select Committee on “A Bill to provide for equitable opportunities of employment in the civil services in the State keeping in view its complex socio-economic and geographical/topographical/linguistic/security concerns and matters connected therewith and incidental thereto (L.A. Bill No. 1 of 2009)” already referred to the Joint Select Committee by the Legislative Assembly.
Moving the Motion, the Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather announced the names of the five Members of the Upper House as the Members of the Joint Select Committee.
The Members include Mohammad Yousuf Taing, Mohammad Rashid Qureshi, R. S. Chib, Abdul Gani Vakil and Murtaza Khan.
