Summer camp, cleanliness drives highlight environmental awareness in Doda Schools

DODA, June 8: On the 4th day of the Summer Camp at Government Higher Secondary School (HSS) Jodhpur, a special cleanliness drive was carried out under the guidance of Surinder Sharma, PEL and Mohan Lal, Lecturer and convenor of the ECO CLUB. The Summer Camp, organized under the ECO CLUB, featured discussions on waste management during the morning assembly, where students and teachers engaged in the activity “Reduce Waste.” The event was conducted under the overall supervision of Satish Chandel, Sr. Lecturer, who is also holding the officiating charge of Principal.
Meanwhile, Government HSS Sinoo Bhallessa also participated in the World Environment Day Week with the theme “Reduce Waste.” A Swachhta Abhiyan was held, featuring lectures delivered by the institution’s nodal officer and Anu Radha DICC. The discussion focused on various means and ways to reduce waste for a healthier lifestyle, conducted under the guidance of Principal Surinder Singh Baloria.
At Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Thathri, a thorough morning assembly was conducted following the guidelines of DSEJ. The assembly, held under the banner of World Environment Day, featured the theme “Reduce Waste.” Students from the Peace House delivered speeches under the guidance of the Principal and House In-charges, emphasizing the importance of waste reduction and environmental conservation.
These initiatives across different schools in Doda underline the commitment to environmental awareness and sustainable practices among students and educators. The activities not only promote cleanliness but also instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment in the younger generation.
