JAMMU, June 8: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit has demanded the Election Commission to go beyond verbal claims and announce the dates for the assembly elections in Jammu-Kashmir.
In a press conference held today at the Jammu State Central Office, state chief Manish Sahni said that the results of the Lok Sabha elections have been announced and the Central Government is going to be formed on 9 June.
He appeals for the restoration of the democratic process in Jammu-Kashmir.
Sahni said that the Election Commission should go beyond its verbal claims and announce the elections before the deadline issued by the Hon'ble Supreme Court for the dates of the assembly elections.
Sahni said that in the Lok Sabha elections, the people of Kashmir have completely rejected the BJP and the parties contesting the elections under its patronage.
Sahni said that as per the instructions of the party high command, Shiv Sena (UBT) will field its candidates for the first time in the assembly elections of Jammu and Kashmir with the resolve to fulfill public aspirations and restore the rights of the local people.On this occasion Gen secretary Vikas Bakshi, President Kamghar wing Raj Singh were present.
