ADGP L&O conducts joint darbar of four IRP Battalions

SRINAGAR, June 8: Vijay Kumar, Additional DGP Armed/ L&O J&K today visited APC Parihaspora to interact with Jawans and officers of Armed units after culmination of Parliamentary elections 2024. It was joint Darbar of Police personnel of IRP-3rd, IRP-9th, IRP-20th and 21st Battalions.
While addressing, the ADGP lauded the Officers/ personnel of J&K Police and security Forces for their contributions in ensuring peaceful and incident free polls. The ADGP credited the Police/ Security forces for creating a safe environment that really encouraged people to come out and vote in large numbers and stressed upon the personnel to keep the momentum going for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath ji Yatra 2024 and Assembly elections 2024.
He further sought feedback from the Police personnel about their experiences in discharging election duties and the challenges faced by them during the 5-phased parliamentary election duties. Besides, ADGP gave a patient hearing to the personnel who presented their genuine grievances before him viz a viz service maters. As many as 34 personnel made oral representations before ADGP regarding transfers on account of domestic problems. ADGP issued directions on the spot for their transfer by way of redressal of their grievances. The ADGP further emphasised upon the personnel to display good behaviour while dealing with public especially during SANJY duties as pilgrims from all across the country visit the UT during the holy pilgrimage. Besides, they should also be smartly turned-out, alert and take great pride in wearing proper uniform as J&K Police is considered as one of the Professional Police Forces in the country. Among others who were present at the Darbar include DIG AP Kashmir Shahid Mehraj-IPS, DIG IRP Ab. Qayoom-IPS & Staff Officer to ADGP Armed Dalip Kumar-SSP. The Darbar was also attended by APC Parihaspora based Commandants Mahmood Ahmed-SSP Commandant IRP 21st Bn. Hakim Munshi-SSP Commandant IRP-3rd Bn, Munir Ahmad-SSP, Dy Co I/C CO IR-20th Bn, Azhar Bashir SSP APCR Kashmir & GOs /other manpower of these four Units.
