| Shiv Sena activists take out protest rally, burn Mufti’s effigy | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 13- The activists of Jammu and Kashmir Shiv Sena (Bala Sahib Thakrey), led by its president Ashok Gupta took out a protest rally from Ranipark raising slogans against Mufti Mohammed Sayeed for his anti-national and communal statements aimed at destabilizing the communal harmony and brotherhood in the state. The rally after passing through Raj Tilak Road, Parade and other main markets of old city culminated at Brahaman Sabha, where the activists burnt the effigy of Mohammed Sayeed for in protest against introduction of a Bill in the state assembly suggesting renaming of Anantnag as Islamabad. Charging Mufti for creating communal and regional divide of the state on the issue of allotment of land to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, Sharma said that after having failed to divide the people on this issue, Mufti again tried to communalize the situation by demanding renaming of Anantnag district as Islamabad on the behest of Islamic fundamentalists. He lashed out PDP for its anti-national and communal behaviour and introducing a controversial Bill. Describing parties like BJP, Congress and Panthers as ‘useless and dumy’ Shiv Sena leader said that these parties never fought for the integrity, equality and communal harmony in the state. The BJP which claims to be Jammu based political party has never given any deep thought on the issues being raised by the PDP and instead is supporting the same party (PDP) for their political gains, he said and added that similarly the JKNPP was raising just hue and cry without any substance. Asserting that Shiv Sena will fight against the communal policies of the PDP tooth and nail, ‘Gupta warned Mufti to desist from such moves which have communal over tunes otherwise face the same fate as was witnessed during Amarnath Sangarsh agitation when you were not allowed to put your dirty feet on the pious land of Jammu’ Suresh Kumar, Kewal Kumar, Raj Singh and Rajeev Bandhari also addressed the rally.
