Police arrest 10 bovine Smugglers, Seized 08 Vehicles, Rescues 152 Bovines

Ramban, June 11: Jammu and Kashmir Police Continuing its drive against the bovine smugglers and their propagators under Operation KAMDHENU,Ramban Police has foiled 10 bovine smuggling attempts, registered 10 FIRs arrested 10 bovine smugglers, rescued 152 bovines and seized 08 vehicles.
Police team of Police station Batote, headed by SHO Baote while performing vehicle checking duty intercepted 05 vehicles, held five persons. During checking 42 bovines were found laden inside these vehicles, which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally.Police Party of PS Batote intercepted one more person who was taking 12 bovine animals on foot towards kashmir without any permission.
In other instance Police team of Police Station Chanderkote, headed by SHO Police Station Chanderkote, intercepted two vehicles and held two accused persons. During checking 72 bovines were found laden inside the vehicles, which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally.
In another instance, Police team of Police Station Ramban headed by SHO Police Station Ramban during vehicle checking duty, intercepted one vehicle and held one person.
During checking 20 bovines were found laden inside vehicle, which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally, without any permission from the competent authority.Police Party of PS Ramban also intercepted one more person who was taking 06 bovine animals on foot towards kashmir without any permission.
As a result, a total of 152 bovine Animals were rescued under the operation “KAMDHENU.” Subsequently, FIR No. 85/2024, 86/2024, 87/2024, 88/2024/ 89/2024 90/2024 have been registered at Police Station Batote, FIRs No. 89/2024 and 90/2024 at Police Station Chanderkote ,whereas FIRs No. 135/2024 and 136/2024, were registered at Police Station Ramban under relevant sections of law and the investigation initiated into these cases.
