Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy organizes Yoga Classes

JAMMU, June 12: Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur organized Yoga Classes under the overall supervision of Garib Dass, IPS, ADGP, the Director of SKPA Udhampur. The event took place at the main Parade ground where GOs, NGOs, other Police personnel, and trainees from various ongoing courses assembled at the ground at around 05:45 hrs to attend the yoga session in natures lap.
At the beginning the Academy welcomed the guest faculty and introduced themselves to all the participants and briefed them by yoga experts. Subsequently all the participants starts to perform yoga exercises as offered under the supervision of yoga experts Narinder Anand and Shweta Anand, National Coordinators of the Youth Empowerment Group, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kerala. The Yoga experts also delivered a lecture to the participants, highlighting the benefits of yoga exercises for maintaining physical and mental health about significance of yoga which becoming more popular among all age groups, it employs a broad holistic approach that focuses on teaching people a new lifestyle, way of thinking, and way of being in the world. In the process, however, it is also found to bring a myriad of healing effects. By attending to practices for improving, regaining or retaining general good health, a person is likely to find that some of his more specific difficulties tend to disappear. Many of the healing effects of yoga are clinically verified. the most important benefits of yoga is its application in relieving stress, fatigue, invigoration and vitality and its anti-aging properties and its application for relaxation therapy. The Nation also celebrates and organizes various yoga events worldwide on the 21st of June every year as "International Yoga Day" to raise public awareness about the benefits of yoga, especially in addressing current health issues. Multiple organizations are engaged in organizing yoga events in every nook and corner to address health issues during the present and future lives of human beings.
The yoga classes started on 12.06.2024 from 0600 hrs to 07:30 hrs and scheduled to be culminated on 13.06.2024 within the premises of SKPA Udhampur. The Academy also provided basic amenities, suitable accommodation, and transport facilities for the guest faculty from the aforementioned organization from Udhampur to Jammu and vice versa. The techniques and procedures to be adopted has been taught by the yoga faculty during yoga exercises with the aim to given relief and stress-free life especially Police Personnel and the same required to be continuously for betterment of the department.
