One-week workshop on "Basic skills in ICT" concludes at GCOE, Jammu

JAMMU, June 14: Department of ICT under the aegis of IQAC of college has organized a one-week workshop on the theme "Basic Skills in ICT" from 6th to 14th June, 2024 for the non-teaching staff of the college. This initiative aimed at upskilling the non-teaching staff, providing them with essential competencies in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Principal of the college, who emphasized the importance of ICT proficiency in enhancing administrative efficiency and fostering a more technologically adept work environment. Week long training sessions covered a wide range of fundamental ICT skills, ensuring that participants are better equipped to handle the digital demands of their roles. The workshop was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Sonam Gandotra, Head of ICT, and Kiran Thapa, Assistant Professor of Education, who served as coordinator and co-coordinator respectively. They, along with Dr. Ambica Sharma, acted as resource persons, delivering comprehensive and practical sessions throughout the week. The event concluded on June 14th, 2024, with a valedictory ceremony where certificates were awarded to all participants, acknowledging their dedication and newly acquired skills. Dr. Jyoti Parihar applauded the efforts of the organising team for their excellent coordination and contributions. Shalini Rana, Convener of IQAC, also appreciated the team's efforts and encouraged the organization of similar events in the future. This workshop reflects the college's commitment to continuous professional development and the empowerment of all its staff members. The program ended with the vote of thanks by Kiran Thapa. Seema Kotwal, Dr. Anuradha Chowdhary, Dr. Sushma Chouhan, Sarita Dogra, Roopa Kumari along with other faculty members also witnessed the event.
