DCO conducts inspection of chemist shops in Sangaldan

RAMBAN, June 14: Drug Control Officer Ramban, Imtiyaz Ahmed conducted inspection of Medical shops in Sangaldan area to ensure compliance with the directives regarding installation of CCTV cameras, preservation of CCTV footage and implementation of computerized billing systems besides to ensure compliance of Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
During the inspections, CCTV cameras were found installed and functional in medical shops. The compliance regarding the implementation of the computerized billing system was not found up to the mark. In response to this, strict directions were issued to ensure the implementation of computerized billing systems.
Chemist fraternity were informed to adhere to the laid down norms strictly and warned the defaulters to desist from any unethical trade practices, failing which strict action as warranted under the Act shall be taken against them.
The primary objective of these inspections was to safeguard public health and prevent the misuse or unauthorized distribution of drugs amongst the patients and people in general.
Chemist fraternity was directed to maintain record of Insulin Syringe and preserve Xerox copies of prescription containing any Psychotropic drug so as to prevent their misuse.
The DCO underscored the significance of implementing digitalized billing systems in medical shops, which not only facilitate transparency in transactions but also aid in maintaining accurate records.
