| Court acquits 7 accused, including 3 real brothers, facing trial in murder case | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar14- 1st Additional Sessions Judge Jammu Puneet Gupta acquitted Tarseem Kumar, Yash Pal, Gopal Dass sons of Sewa Ram, Guran, Baldev Raj, Shamsher Chand and Gara Ram, facing trial in a murder case of Bodh Raj whose dead body was lying near cement factory, Kangrail on March 31, 2005. 1st Additional Sessions Judge, after hearing Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the state and Advocates BL Chatta and MM Gupta appearing for the accused persons, observed that the victim having been seen lastly in the company of the accused has not proved, the forensic evidence is inconclusive and the recoveries are not linking with the happening of the crime. The fall out of the same is that the prosecution has failed to prove its case against the accused beyond any shadow of doubt. The accused are acquitted of the charges framed against them, the Judge ordered. According to the prosecution case the accused Gopal Dass was arrested by the police on the alleged disclosure made by him. According to the challan there was some enmity between the accused Tarsem Lal, Yash Pal and Gopal Dass and victim Bodh Raj over a piece of land. Accused are alleged to have attacked the victim on the night of March 30, 2005 when he was on his way back from the shop. When the victim reached near cement factory, the accused are alleged to have attacked upon him resulting into his death. Police after completion of the investigation presented challan in the court of law.
