| Court awards imprisonment to 2 accused for attacking Court employee | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar14- Electricity Magistrate Jammu MK Sharma convicted and sentenced Ram Lal and his son Vijay Kumar, facing trial for attacking the Court Process Server on March 26, 2003. After about six years, the Court after hearing Senior Prosecuting Officer DP Singh appearing for the State and Advocate MM Gupta appearing for the accused, observed that the case against the accused have been proved u/s 353 RPC and the accused are therefore, convicted for the commission of u/s 353 RPC. They have faced the trial for six years and are sentenced to simple imprisonment for one month each, the Court ordered. According to the prosecution story the complainant Jeet Kumar, the process server of District and Sessions Court Jammu was deputed to serve summon upon the respondent and when he went to the house of Rano Devi for service of summons, Rano Devi asked accused Vijay Kumar to see as to what is the summon. The accused Vijay Kumar took the Process Server to the field where the accused Ram Lal was working. The accused Ram Lal tore the Summon and threatened to kill him if he again came with summon. On a written report lodged by the Jeet Kumar Police Station Domana registered a case u/s 353 RPC and after completion of the investigation challan was presented in the Court. JNF
