Early Times Report

Jammu, June 15: Taking serious note of recent terror incidents in Jammu province, the Central government has directed authorities in the Union Territory to crush terrorism with an iron hand and take strict action against those involved in sheltering terrorists.
Apart from giving clear directions to the UT authorities to intensify anti-terror operations in Jammu province, the Union Government has also assured to equip Jammu and Kashmir with advanced equipment to fight the undeclared war imposed by Pakistan through mercenaries.
Director General of Police (DGP) R R Swain while interacting with media persons at Hirnagar said that the Union Government has asked the J&K administration to take effective steps to crush terrorism and also single out those who are providing shelter to terrorists.
Following a series of terrorist incidents in Jammu province, the Director General of Police (DGP) for Jammu and Kashmir, R R Swain, issued a stern warning against aiding terrorists. He emphasized that those providing shelter or support to terrorists would face strict punishment. This statement came after two terrorists were neutralized in Kathua district’s Hiranagar tehsil.
The DGP visited the encounter site and reiterated the commitment to combating terrorism and maintaining peace in the region. He cautioned local supporters of terrorism about the severe repercussions of their actions, noting that they have much to lose compared to foreign terrorists.
Swain acknowledged the shift in strategy by Pakistan-based terror groups, now targeting the previously peaceful Jammu region. He described the situation as an undeclared war and assured that Indian forces are ready to face this challenge.
Recent terror attacks in the Reasi, Kathua, and Doda districts resulted in casualties and injuries among civilians and security personnel. In response, security forces are determined to eliminate terrorism and have been given clear directives from the Union Government to act firmly against terrorists and their supporters.
The DGP appealed to the public for continued information flow to aid in counter-terrorism efforts and promised to strengthen security measures to ensure lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
