| Red Cross unit set up at Guru Nanak College | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 14- A Red Cross Unit was established in Guru Nanak College o f Education, Jallo Chak, Jammu today.
Secretary Red Cross Anil K Padha in his address to the college management, faculty and the staff, gave a brief history of the organization and its importance.
Chairman Prof. Harbans Singh appreciated the work of the organization and hoped that their co-operation will instill the spirit of selfless service to mankind among the students. Forty three students and 13 teachers on the staff became its members and volunteers.
S. Sartaj Singh, Managing Director presented vote of thanks.
The objective of establishing of Red Cross Units in different colleges is to create opportunity for the students to serve the suffering humanity and prepare themselves for rendering the similar services to the mankind at the time of natural calamities or man-made disasters. This exercise is a part of the program launched by Regional Red Cross in collaboration with NSS coordinator of the Jammu University
