Prime Minister to release 17th installment of PM-KISAN scheme; Jammu witnesses celebratory event

JAMMU, June 18: Department of Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare, Jammu, organized a programme regarding Live Streaming of release of 17th installment of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during Grand Kissan Sammelan at Varanasi ( U.P).
Bharat Bhushan, Chairman, District Development Council was the chief guest on the occasion, regarding release of 17th installment during Celebration of PM Kisan Utsav Diwas at Baba Jitto, Kissan Kendra, Talab Tillo, here. More than 150 farmers of Jammu division participated in the programme.
The PM-KISAN scheme, a flagship initiative aimed at providing direct income support to farmers across the nation, will witness the digital transfer of over Rs. 19,000 crore to more than 9.2 crore beneficiary farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Highlighting the scheme's impact nationally, the Prime Minister affirmed, "So far, more than 11 crore eligible farmer families have received benefits exceeding Rs. 3.04 lakh crore under PM-KISAN, empowering rural India and farmer's community."
Speaking on the occasion Director Agriculture Jammu said that the purpose of PMKISAN scheme is to give financial assistance to the farmers of the nation. He further informed that e-KYC has been mandatory for availing benefits under PMKISAN which can be done through PMKISAN portal or face recognition mobile app or bio metric based e-KYC through CSC.
In the context of Jammu division, Director Agriculture Jammu stated, "Over Rs. 176.52 crores will be digitally transferred to more than 8.37 lakh beneficiary farmers in J&K alone during this installment. Additionally, in Jammu division, over Rs. 76.52 crores will be transferred to more than 3.82 lakh beneficiary farmers." This underscores the significant financial support reaching our farmers, catalyzing rural development and enhancing livelihoods." The Director Agriculture further remarked, "More than 8 lakh eligible farmer families in Jammu & Kashmir have collectively received benefits amounting to over Rs. 3,085 crores under PM-KISAN, reflecting our steadfast commitment to rural prosperity in the region."
