Srinagar, September 21 – The Cabinet meeting which was presided over by Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma today passed resolution felicitating the Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad for receiving prestigious award in USA.
The Cabinet felicitates the Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, on conferment of the prestigious ‘Pride of India’ award by the American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin for 2006 at New York for distinguished public service and astute statesmanship.
The Cabinet places on record its deep appreciation for his special appeal to the Non-Resident Indian entrepreneurs to whole heartedly participate in the reconstruction and economic development of the state.
The Cabinet also congratulates Mr. Azad for having availed himself of the opportunity during his visit to Brussels to present effectively India’s point of view on various sub-continental issues to the European Parliament, European Think tanks and Europeans Union dignitaries at the highest level.
In another decision, the Cabinet directed all the concerned authorities to ensure implementation of decisions on ground as per the timelines fixed by it and also directed concerned departments to approach Centre Government for early release of funds for relief to the affected families and restoration of damages caused to public utilities and infrastructure.
The Cabinet also directed Revenue Authorities to assess the damages caused by recent hailstorms in the valley. It also directed concerned departments to seek necessary and appropriate financial assistance from the Calamity Relief Fund for relief to the affected families. |
