Terrorists fire at SFs in Poonch

Jammu, June 18: Suspected terrorists on Tuesday struck again and reportedly fired at the security forces in Surankote belt of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Official sources said suspected terrorists opened fire at a police team in upper reaches of Surankot in Poonch.
“The firing was retaliated that triggered a brief exchange of bullets,” they said adding that the terrorists fled thereafter
following which a massive search operation is being carried out in the woods of Behramgala by the joint team of security forces.
“No fresh exchange of firing is reported,” they added.
In the last ten days, around four terror related incidents were reported in the Jammu region.
On June 9, terrorists fired at a bus carrying pilgrims from Shiv Khori shrine towards Katra and it fell into a gorge. Ten pilgrims were killed and 33 injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, one CRPF jawan was martyred and two Pakistani terrorists were killed in a gunfight in Hiranagar village of Kathua district and five Army personnel and a police constable sustained injuries in two separate attacks in Chattergala and Gandoh areas of Doda district.
