JU organises a 3-day Yoga workshop to commemorate 10th International Yoga Day 2024

JAMMU, June 19: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, today inaugurated a 3-day Yoga workshop at Gymnasium Hall of Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, under the supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of sports and Physical Education.
Around 80 participants participated in the Yoga inauguration session, which started with intense learning of Basic and advanced practices of Yog Asanas and Mudras.
During the inaugural function, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director of the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, emphasized the importance of yoga for overall well-being. He highlighted that practicing yoga is not only an effective stress reliever but also a method to reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression. Dr. Baba further explained that by focusing attention on the body and breath, yoga helps to mitigate anxiety and release physical tension.
The Yoga session was conducted by Sanjeev Kumar Pandey, Teaching Assistant. He also provided information about different Asanas, pranayama and Trending Utilisation of Yog Mudras.
The formal proceedings and a Vote of Thanks was carried out by Vimal Kishore, Assistant Professor, Department of Physical Education.
Raj Kumar Bakshi, Gagan Kumar, Harinderpal Singh, Rishiv Sharma, Ashok Singh Bali and Sat Paul were also attendthe session.
