6/19/2024 9:55:39 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 19: Arun Gupta, President of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry, expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, for approving the prestigious Lakhanpur-Doda National Highway project and the construction of the Chhatergala Tunnel. This significant development will link Lakhanpur with Doda, providing a much-needed boost to the region's infrastructure.
Arun Gupta also extended sincere thanks to Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, acknowledging his relentless efforts in making this project a reality. According to Gupta, the completion of the highway will ensure all-weather connectivity between Lakhanpur and Doda district, significantly reducing travel time and fostering business activities, revenue generation, and employment opportunities. Moreover, the project is expected to invigorate tourism activities in the region.
The new highway is poised to enhance access to several tourist spots, including Billawar, Basholi, Bani, Bhaderwah, and Sarthal. These locations, renowned for their favorable climatic conditions and breathtaking beauty, are also home to famous pilgrim sites such as Maa Sukrala Mandir, Sheetla Mata Mandir, and Shakti Mata Mandir. Gupta emphasized that these areas, known for their cultural heritage, rival other popular hill stations in their scenic allure.
Arun Gupta stressed the need for the tourism department to actively promote these tourist and pilgrim spots along the new highway. By highlighting their popularity, the department can attract a greater number of pilgrims and tourists. He urged the government to direct relevant departments to collaborate with interested parties in developing infrastructure, such as hotels and other facilities, to better accommodate visitors.
Gupta's call to action includes a strong appeal for government support in facilitating the development of infrastructural facilities. By providing better amenities for tourists and pilgrims, the region can maximize the potential benefits of increased visitor traffic, thereby boosting the local economy and enhancing the overall tourism experience.
