JAMMU, June 19: In a vibrant celebration of International Yoga Day 2024, the Vishwa Yog Sansthan has organized a three-day Yoga camp at the serene Hari Ki Pouri in Jammu. The event has drawn a diverse group of participants and notable figures, emphasizing the importance of yoga, Ayurveda, and spiritualism in modern life.
The highlight of the event was the inaugural ceremony attended by senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta, who served as the Chief Guest. The camp was graced by the presence of esteemed personalities such as Yog Guru Karan Singh, former Corporator Sham Basson, retired Judge Om Parkash Sharma, Bansi Lal Gupta, Sunny Sangotra, Subash Chander, Karuna Chettri, Suresh Sharma, Balkar Singh, Leela Chettri, Sham Lal, Mukesh Kumar, and Banu Partap Singh. In his address, Kavinder Gupta underscored the unparalleled contributions of Indian ancient health sciences to global well-being.
"Yoga, Ayurveda, and spiritualism, along with meditation, form a powerful combination that guarantees human well-being," he said, adding "It is a matter of immense pride for every Indian that these are among the greatest gifts India has bestowed upon mankind."
Kavinder elaborated on the profound benefits of yoga and other ancient Indian health sciences, advocating for a lifestyle that aligns closely with nature. He highlighted the holistic approach of Vedic health sciences, which harmonize the body, mind, and spirit to foster overall health.
The event featured various yoga sessions led by Yog Guru Karan Singh, who guided participants through traditional practices designed to enhance physical and mental health. He emphasized the therapeutic benefits of yoga postures, breathing techniques, and meditation.
Participants, including local residents and visitors, expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to engage in these ancient practices in a supportive and scenic environment. The camp also provided insights into Ayurveda, offering attendees practical tips on incorporating natural health remedies into their daily routines.
The three-day camp aims to rejuvenate the participants and spread awareness about the ancient wisdom of India that continues to offer solutions to contemporary health challenges.
