| Gandhi Nagar residents demand regular deployment of flying squads | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 15- Resident Welfare Association Gandhi Nagar in a meeting held under the chairman of its President Ved Balogtra has expressed great concern over detoriating law and order situation in the area. They said that the incidents of theft and chain snatching are on increase and police is doing very little to tackle the situation. The Association has demanded regular deployment of flying squads in the areas like Gandhi Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Shastri Nagar and Sanjay Nagar besides organizing police- public meets in these areas. The members also urged the government, Municipal and Urban Development Authorities to resume work on laying of sewer lines in this area but was deferred on the pretext of dispute over land acquired for the treatment plant. They also urged for a ban on the use of polythene bags, besides construction of a community hall-cum-library in any park in Gandhi Nagar locality. The meeting among others was attended by Ram Lal Anand, Manohar Lal Vaid, Chaman Lal Dogra, G P Soil, Romesh Goswami, Ashok Gupta, Ravi Dev Sharma, Surinder Sethi and Raj Bharti.
