‘Seminar on climate change’ organized at Gurdhin

Jammu, Mar 15- The celebrations of International Women’s Week concluded here today with a women’s seminar on ‘climate change’ organized at Gurdhin by Nehru Youth Club in association with Rural Information Technology and Youth Development Centre, Rajouri. The program was jointly sponsored by WWF, University of Jammu and the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests under national environment awareness campaign.
More than 200 participants from Gudhan, Chawa, Pirkanji and Atti villages participated in the seminar.
Naseem Begum Principal Public School Rajouri was the chairperson of the function. Mohammed Farooq, Th. M.Nasir Khan, national awardee, Ch. Mohammed Yusuf General secretary of the Claub, Haji Munshi Khan, Naseem Akhter, Usha Devi and Asif president Gurdin Club devlievered lectures on the topic and explained in detail the reasons of climate change and the need for initiating necessary steps to arrest the trend. They also dwelt at length about the role of women for development of the state especially of rural areas and called for massive plantations.
