Heroin recovered under "Operation Sanjeevani" 2 drug peddlers arrested; 1 motorcycle seized

KATHUA, June 21: Continuing its vigorous efforts against the drug menace under "Operation Sanjeevani," J&K Police recovered approximately 10.34 grams of Heroin (Chitta) in the jurisdictional area of Police Station Kathua. Two drug peddlers were arrested, and one motorcycle was seized on the spot.
On 20th June 2024, reliable sources informed Police Station Kathua that two individuals, Navdeep Singh (son of Nater Singh) and Sahil Khajuria (son of the late Kamlesh Chander), both residents of Ward No. 01 Kathua, were involved in the illegal trade of selling narcotics. They were reportedly in possession of a significant quantity of narcotics and were attempting to sell it in the Berrian Pattan area and its surroundings.
Acting swiftly, a police team from PS Kathua, under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua and SHO PS Kathua, set up a special checkpoint at Berrian Pattan. They intercepted a motorcycle bearing Registration No. JK08B-6142 and apprehended Navdeep Singh and Sahil Khajuria. During the check, approximately 10.34 grams of Heroin (Chitta) were recovered from their possession. The recovered narcotics and the motorcycle were seized, and the two drug peddlers were arrested on the spot. A case has been registered at Police Station Kathua under FIR No. 189/2024 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway. District Police Kathua once again urges the public to come forward and share information about any illicit activities by contacting 100 or 9858034100. The identity of informers will be kept confidential.
