Jammu police arrests two persons

Jammu, June 21: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under Operation SANJEEVANI Jammu Police achieved success by recovering 5/6 grams of Heroin(Chitta) and two persons were arrested under the jurisdiction of P/S Nagrota.
A Police team of Police Station Nagrota led by SHO P/S Nagrota along with PSI Mashqoor while on naka duty at TCP Nakka in the jurisdiction of PS Nagrota rounded up two suspects, later identified as Ankush Sharma S/0 Nek Ram Sharma R/O Chamyara,Teh.Katra District Reasi & co-suspect disclosed his name as Pawan Kumar S/O Des Raj R/O Pinger, Teh.Ramnagar District Udhampur.During search 5/6 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
In this regard case FIR No. 181/2024 U/S 8/21/22/29 of NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Nagrota and both accused were arrested.
Further investigation of the case is going on which includes forward and backward linkages.
Jammu Police is working intensively to uproot the chains of drug supply in the region and thorough questioning of the accused is going on to know the origin of the drugs supply chain.
Jammu Police is striving hard and taking every possible step to make people especially youth aware to eradicate drug menace.
