BIS celebrates International Yoga Day

JAMMU, June 22: The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and fervor at its office premises. The event aimed to promote the holistic benefits of yoga and foster a sense of well-being among employees.
Mahesh Chandra Saklani, Section Officer, BIS-JKBO, celebration began with an introductory session highlighting the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental health. Experienced yoga instructors conducted a series of yoga asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), guiding participants through techniques designed to improve flexibility, strength, and relaxation.
Later, Ishwar Singh Yadav, Deputy Director of BIS Head Quarter Hindi Dept, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the significance of incorporating yoga into daily routines to enhance overall health and productivity. "Yoga is a time-tested practice that nurtures both the body and mind. By integrating yoga into our lives, we can achieve a balanced lifestyle and greater efficiency in our work," he said.
The event saw active participation from staff members, who expressed their appreciation for the initiative and the positive impact of yoga on their well-being. Refreshments and informational booklets on yoga and its benefits were also distributed to the attendees.
The celebration of International Yoga Day at BIS Jammu and Kashmir Branch Office underscores the organization's commitment to promoting health and wellness among its employees. BIS continues to advocate for practices that contribute to a healthier and more balanced work environment.
