Senior Citizen rejuvenation centre celebrates foundation day

JAMMU, June 23: Senior Citizen Rejuvenation Centre (SCRC) Trikuta Nagar Jammu celebrated its foundation day and Yoga Day cum Gourav awards celebrations at the centre. Arun Gupta, President of the Chamber of Commerce Jammu, graced it as the chief guest along with BJP District President Jammu South Rekha Mahajan as Guest of Honor, Baldev Raj Gupta, President of the Centre, Krishan Lal Gupta Patron, Tara Chand Taggar Secretary General, Vinod Gupta Cashier, and all other senior members, including M. L. Vaid, who was the stage secretary. The program was organized under the presidency of Baldev Raj Gupta. In front of SCRC members, the honorable guests were presented with a bouquet of flowers and a shawl.The chief guests congratulated the Council for organising this gala event.
SCRC members briefed the guests and the gathering about the activities being carried out by the centre. They said that at least 20-30 members daily assembled in the centre for recreation, social service and spiritual awakening by way of recitation of Gayatri mantra, chanting of 'Om' and reading of Bhagwat Gita. Yoga sessions are also taken up periodically.
The program contained lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries and Esha, Vandana cultural items of Bhajaj, and songs by senior members. The honorable members were Ashok Gupta chief patron, K L Gupta patron, Narinder Gupta patron, SK Jain, and prominent others who attended the event. Then honoring the meritorious students of the area, including Trophies, followed by a speech by the chief guest and a vote of thanks by Taggar. The celebration concluded by jointly singing the National Anthem, followed by a light refreshment on a high note.
