6/23/2024 9:40:30 PM
Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, June 23: Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Kashmir Valley is experiencing a resurgence in tourism and newfound freedom following the historic abrogation of Article 370. This significant constitutional reform has opened doors to unprecedented opportunities for the region, allowing its natural beauty and cultural heritage to flourish.
This was observed by Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister in a statement issued from Srinagar.
The Senior BJP leader highlighted the positive impact of this transformative decision, emphasizing how it has liberated the Valley and paved the way for economic growth and development. The scenic landscapes and cultural richness of Kashmir are once again beckoning tourists from around the world, marking a new era of prosperity for the region.
Kavinder said since the revocation of Article 370, the Valley has witnessed a remarkable surge in tourist footfall across the Kashmir region, signaling a new era of development, prosperity, and peace in the region. In 2023 alone, Jammu and Kashmir welcomed over two crore tourists, surpassing previous records. Over the past 10 years, the Amarnath Yatra has witnessed the highest number of pilgrims participating. He said every section of society today is busy in their works in Valley, contributing to the overall development and prosperity of the region, due to the record number of tourists flocking to Jammu and Kashmir.
The senior BJP leader mentioned that during the National Conference's regime, Kashmir was often in the news for Hartals, Bandhs, terrorism, stone pelting, and the killing of innocent people.
"Now under the regime of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a positive change. Today, the Valley is flourishing with tourists, and there are no Hartals, Bandhs, stone pelting, or killings of innocent people," he said, emphasizing the BJP government's efforts have restored peace and normalcy to the region, and it is this stability that has encouraged tourism and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
As the Annual Amarnath Yatra is going to start very soon, Kavinder Gupta appealed to the pilgrims to also visit the revered religious sites in the Jammu region. Alongside the holy journey to the Amarnath cave, pilgrims should also experience the spiritual richness of destinations such as Raghunath ji Temple in Jammu, Budda Amarnath, Shiv Khori, Peer Kho Temple, Purmandal, Sukrala Mata Temple, Mantalai Temple, and other renowned places of worship, he added.
The former deputy Chief Minister encouraged pilgrims to embrace the diverse cultural tapestry of Jammu and Kashmir, where spirituality intertwines seamlessly with natural beauty.
