Kishtwar, Mar 15- District Election Officer, Kishtwar, G. R. Bhagat has exhorted upon the district and tehsil-level officers to observe Model Code of Conduct in their jurisdiction in letter and spirit, keeping in view the ensuing Parliamentary elections in two assembly segments of Kishtwar and Inderwal which are part of 6-Udhampur parliamentary constituency, going to polls on April, 23..
He was addressing a meeting of officers convened by him to review the pace of preparedness for the smooth conduct of polling in district Kishtwar.
Various other issues relating to polling process were deliberated in threadbare in the meeting which included appointment of Sectoral and Zonal Magistrate in both segments, besides Presiding and Polling officers for which fresh list, after due verification has been asked from the concerned district officers which should reach District Election Officer by 18th March, 2009 positively the meeting was informed.
The DEO has also ordered that no officer shall leave headquarters without seeking prior permission, in case of departmental exigency or otherwise.
