CBC organizes awareness on IDY -2024 at Kotranka

JAMMU, June 24: In connection with observance of International Yoga Day, Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Field Office, Rajouri organised Mini ICOP at Govt. HSS, Samote in Rajouri district. The aim of organizing this IYD awareness programme was to publicize IYD and make common masses acquaint about the benefits of Yogasanas. People were made aware about benefits of practicing Yogasanas for making life stress free, disease free and productive.
On the day of observance of 10th International Yoga Day, CBC Field Office, Rajouri organised a series of events at GHSS, Samote. These events were organised under the Chairmanship of Shabir Kamlaq, Vice Principal of the host Institute. Arun Kumar Lecturer, Pal Das Lecturer, Mohd Sheikh Salim Lecturer Teachers of GHSS, Abdul Latif CHO, Health Deptt. Buddhal, Naresh Chauhan, Yoga Instructor, 60 RR were prominent among others who attended the programme.
In his address Shabir Kamalaq V.Principal urged the participants to practice Yogasnas regularly in order to feel the difference and make their lives healthy and fit. He also appreciated the efforts of CBC for making people of far flung and remote hilly area aware about Yoga and AYUSH through their activities which included Mass Yoga Demonstration, Expert Lectures and cultural programme. He was of the view that Yogic practices are very beneficial for physical health, mental health and psychological health. He was of the view that public participation and Jan Bagidhari will definitely play a crucial role in promoting the concept of Yoga.
Abdul Latif, CHO, also addressed the gathering He said Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with self, the world and the nature.
The session began at 9:30 am and continued till 10:30 am. Yoga was practiced under the supervision of Naresh Chauhan, Instructor from 60 RR (Yoga Expert). He taught various asanas, mudras, pranayama and Kriyas. Various Asanas like Vrikshasan, Vajarasan, Padamasan, Trikoneasan, Sarvangasan, Bhujangasan, Halasan, Shirshasan etc. were practiced and their benefits were explained to the participants. The yoga session was attended by officials of Block Administration, staff & Students of GHSS Samote.
Sunil Kumar from CBC explained the working and organization of CBC in his welcome address. Vijay Mattoo from CBC Poonch conducted the programme and open quiz. He also motivated the audience to adopt Yoga in their day to day life for a better living. He said that yoga is beneficial for physical fitness, musculoskeletal functioning and cardio vascular health.
Speeches by students and expert lectures by Staff and representatives from Education, Health were also organised to promote the concept of Yoga and to generate its awareness among masses among & through the students and younger generation who witnessed the programme.
An open quiz on yoga and current affairs also engaged the audience. Cultural items by Saraswati Sangeet Vidyalay, Poonch Empanelled troupes of CBC, Regional Office, Jammu was another attraction during the awareness programme who mesmerized the audience with its theme based and folk items.
