Early Times Report

JAMMU, June 24: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, has called for stringent action against individuals supporting terrorists and anti-national elements in the region.
In a strong statement issued here today, the senior BJP leader emphasized the necessity of booking such individuals under the Enemy Agents Act (EAA), a law known for its severity compared to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Welcoming the DGP's statement on Enemy Agents Act (EAA), the senior BJP leader highlighted the Union Government's stance of zero tolerance towards terrorism and its supporters. He noted that the adoption of the Enemy Agents Act demonstrates the government's commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the region. "The Enemy Agents Act is a powerful tool in our legal arsenal to combat terrorism effectively. By invoking this law, we are sending a clear message that anyone found aiding and abetting terrorists will face the full force of the law. The punishment under the EAA is severe, but it is necessary to deter individuals from supporting anti-national activities," he added. Kavinder also underscored the importance of community cooperation in combating terrorism. He urged general public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. "The fight against terrorism is not just the responsibility of the government and security forces; it requires the active participation of every citizen.
Together, we can ensure that Jammu and Kashmir remains a safe and peaceful region," he said.
Kavinder Gupta reiterated the BJP Government's unwavering commitment to national security and the eradication of terrorism. He assured the public that the government would continue to take decisive actions to protect the integrity and sovereignty of the nation.
