| Boy’s dead body found | | Was murdered by his step brother | |

Srinagar: Police on Sunday recovered a dead body of an 11 Year old boy from a Nallah at Mawora Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district. The boy was allegedly murdered by his step brother and later his dead body was thrown in a Nallah nearby.
Police sources told that the dead body of 11 year old Javed Ahmad Khatana son of Ghulam Hassan Khatana of Mawora Pahalgam was recovered from a nearby Nallah. Javed had gone missing two days back and ever since police was looking for him.
Police sources said that locals of the area smelled a rat behind Javed’s killing and immediately people staged demonstrations demanding that Javed’s killer be arrested. Sources said that police immediately rounded up some people including the step brother of Javed identified as Farooq Ahmad Khatana.
During questioning Farooq admitted that he lured Javed to an isolated place on Saturday and later strangulated him to death, police sources said. They said that Farooq has been arrested and a case has been registered against him.
