| 119th Birth Anniversary of Justice M C Mahajan celebrated | | |

The Mahajan Sabha, Gandhi Nagar Jammu, with the coordination of Greater Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha(Regd). Jammu and Kashmir, celeberated 119th Birth Anniversary of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan on Sunday the 15th March, 2009 which was marked under an unprecedented gathering representing all parts of the state as well as from outside the state.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, presently Member Parliament, who was the Chief Guest, highlighted the high ideologies and contributions of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan on which the infra-structure of the present society rests. Dr. Abdullah explained in detail how for sighted late Justice Mahajan was in various fields and made the judicial system of the country very strong. All those ideologies and contributions to which our state and country are indebted today also, have become quite relevant in today’s changed scenario. Dr. Abdullah remarks and expressed the hope that the Mahajan Sabha and the people of the state in particular will continue to follow the footsteps of late Justice Mahajan.
Welcoming the dignitaries and Guests, Jugal Mahajan, Chief Patron explained the ideologies and contributions of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan in ameliorating the problems and hardship or the comman man as the first Prime Minister of the state and also in the field of Judiciary as being the Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India, rendering the judicial system in the country is known over the world. The Chief Patron laid emphasis upon the youngones and more particularly the members of the Mahajan Biradari to follow the footsteps of Duggar hero to enable the Society to meet the challenges effectively which is the need of the hour which included marriage without dowry and minimum expenses thereto. He also cautioned the youngones to discard forcefully the practice of artosites on women and other social evils like divorce etc.
Raman Bhalla, Chetna Samiti, Punjab, Kundal Lal Gupta and others spoking on the occasion also highlighted the contributions of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan benefiting the society and the Indian Judicial system and with particular reference to delimitation of boundaries in the state.
A unique book titled SHER-E-DUGGAR of Jammu projecting the lines, philosophies and high ideologies of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan as well as Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, published by Mahajan Sabha with active co-operation of Greater Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha, J&K, was distributed commended by all.
