Notorious drug peddler Liyakat Ali booked under PIT NDPS Act

JAMMU, June 26: Acting tough against drug peddlers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Jammu and Kashmir Police under Operation SANJEEVANI in Bishnah ,Jammu booked the most wanted and notorious drug peddler under PIT NDPS Act and lodged him in District Jail Udhampur.
The most wanted and notorious drug smuggler namely Liyakat Ali S/O Hussan Mir R/O Sikanderpur Kothey Tehsil Bishnah District Jammu has been booked under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu.
The booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in District Jail at Udhampur.
Most importantly the above mentioned drug peddler was operating from the Chitta hotspot of Bishna police station, and by lodging him in Udhampur jail the main supply chain of drug peddling has been disrupted.
It is pertinent to mention that below mentioned cases were registered against the above mentioned drug peddler and was involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of the area. Despite his involvement in multiple FIRs, he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
The above said notorious drug peddler/criminal has remained successful every time in securing the bails from the Hon'ble Court and in order to refrain the subject from indulging in criminal activities, a dossier (PIT NDPS Act) was recommended against him, upon which, the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu had issued a PIT NDPS Act warrant against him. The arrest was made by a team of P/S Bishnah headed by SHO P/S Bishnah under the close supervision of SDPO R.S.Pura, SP Headquarters Jammu & overall supervision of the SSP Jammu.
The locals of the area appreciated the efforts of the Jammu Police in acting taugh against drug smugglers and making sincere efforts in controlling drug abuse.
